I grew up in Sunset, Utah and served an LDS mission in Taiwan. I've been married for seventeen years, and have two children and two Boston Terriers. My family has lived in Houston and Austin, Texas; Madison, Wisconsin; Chengdu, China; Boulder, Colorado; Spanish Fork, Utah, and currently, in Richardson, Texas.

I enjoy reading (for a list of books I've read this century, see my Book List), cooking (I enjoy a variety of international cuisines, including Greek, Indian, Chinese, Italian, and Mexican; my favorite cooking magazines are Cooking Light and Healthy Cooking), yoga, and music (I play piano and the iPod; a sampling of current playlists would include Chuck Prophet, AC/DC, Steve Earle, Calexico, and U2).
